Our Practice Areas

Real Estate

This Includes:

  • Closings, Residential and Commercial
  • Real Estate Workouts:
A workout agreement is a mutual agreement between a lender and borrower to renegotiate terms on a loan that is in default. Generally, the workout includes waiving any existing defaults and restructuring the loan terms and covenants.
  • Title Examination:
Title examination is a close examination of all public records that affect the title to the real estate you are purchasing. The search involves reviewing past deeds, wills, and trusts to make sure the title has passed correctly to each new owner.
  • Foreclosures
  • Evictions:
Unlike most states, the Georgia landlord-tenant law does not specify how long you should wait before filing an eviction lawsuit. You have the option to give the tenant a period of 24 hours-10 days to comply with the notice. If the tenant refuses to comply, you can go ahead and file an eviction lawsuit.

Wills and Estates

Estate planning is simply the process of getting your affairs in order so that you make things easier for your surviving family members when the time comes. It doesn’t have to be difficult, expensive, or depressing. All you need to do is take a few simple steps: take a look at what you own, make a will and a few other documents (you can probably do it yourself, without hiring a lawyer), and review the beneficiary designations on your retirement accounts. For the vast majority of Americans, there’s no need to worry about estate
taxes or fancy trusts.
Estate planning is something you do for your family. Get it done, and you’ll feel better knowing that you’ve taken care of them.

Business Formation

The way in which your business is formed will determine the personal
liability of the founders, how taxes are paid, and other important
details. For example, a sole proprietor typically makes decisions on
her or his own, while a partner in a partnerships must get approval
from all other partners prior to making major decisions for the
company. The main business legal structures are:
  • Sole Proprietorship
  • Partnership
  • Limited Liability Company (LLC)
  • Corporation
  • Nonprofit
